8 years

It seems that I’ve been on WordPress for eight years or so I’m told today. It doesn’t seem that long and I’m sure that my account sat dormant for some time while I thought of what it was that I wished to blog about. I still haven’t decided but I’ll let you know when I have.

    1. All of my tweets are nonsense as are all my blog posts. Just checked – I actually started this in May 2013 so the account must have been resting for a long time before I did anything with it.

  1. [ Smiles ] Nicely done and a happy eighth blogging anniversary to you.

I got fed up of the changes that WordPress was making; which resulted in me deleting my blog on WordPress and creating a new on over at Blogger.

Also, best of luck to you and this blog of yours!

    1. I looked back at my posts and I actually began posting in May 2013 so I must have had an account for a few years before I actually started putting up anything.

    1. I am enjoying the project thanks. And I seem to have come up with some sort of rota for the creative work, decorating and general housework. What post do you have lined up next, if you don’t mind me asking?

      1. Rotas are good. Being properly retired we’ve both worked out routines to give form to our week.

My next is about bedside table reading matter, and then a review follows after that.

PS Apologies for the repeated comment; I was convinced I forgot to press SEND.

      2. I’m currently reading “Something Wicked This Way Comes” due entirely to your review. It is delicious, very cinematic! You can imagine its origins as a screenplay for Gene Kelly. I love its references to other texts and the way it builds up to the arrival of the carnival in a very visual way – the cigar store indians, the lightning conductor salesman. It’s already one of my favourite books and I’m only at page 26. Thank you.

      3. Oh, I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I couldn’t get into it the first time I tried it but — as you’ve found out with your description of it being cinematic — it’s a question of finding an entry point. Mine was with the poetic quality of his prose writing, and then the rest followed more easily.

      4. I find real beauty in Bradbury’s prose. @…holding the book but reading the empty spaces.” You are quite right, the lines have a poetic quality. Thanks again for the posting the led me to “Something Wicked This Way Comes”.

    1. Sentimentality on my part I’m afraid, he passed away just over two years ago. I just wanted a picture unrelated to the post title and of something important to me. You know how it is with pets?

      1. We are cat people too though I didn’t know I was until we had one – I disliked them intensely as a child. We too have had to take two ‘to the vets’ not an easy thing to do.
