Joan Aiken and guided reading

I’ve decided – that come the return to school after the half term break – I’m going to use “Wolves” either as a class novel or a group reader (with my top group). Joan Aiken’s writing is just right for the age group I teach and has enough excitement to grab their attentions with just the correct balance of new and old vocabulary. One lad in particular will love “oubliette“. Wish me luck!

  1. That sounds great! I like it that you’ve chosen to use something which you have real enthusiasm for – I think that kind of thing is infectious. I hope they really enjoy it.
