Bricks and Mortar stores

After visiting a store in Cheltenham today (more about that in the next post) I’ve decided to explain why I’ve posted information about several stores and why I will continue to do so.

I have to confess that I’ve been a “hunt-a-bargain-online” shopper in the past and used the “interweb” to beat one store’s price by a pound or two through using another store.

However, after talking to a few store owners and manager I could see how online sales and price-matching / beating was causing businesses to fold. Now, I’m happy to pay a little more if I can continue to go into a store and try out instruments and talk to human beings (face to face)  about music, instruments, families etc.

My posts about stores are all about places where I found staff who were friendly and welcoming and instruments that were special. I would recommend everybody to visit any or all of the stores I post about. I’m certain you’ll have the same positive experience I’ve had.

This is of course assuming there’s no change of personnel or ownership.

Let me know how things go.
